Send crypto

To transfer currency to an external address, press the Send button in your asset card.

You will see a slider with the two options of sending funds:

  • Address (default) — requires entering blockchain credentials;
  • Email or user ID — requires entering the receiver's email address or external ID.

Depending on the option you select, follow one of the corresponding algorithms.

Option I: Address

The Address screen can look different — it may list a network or a memo associated with the receiver's address. Both of these credentials must be specified correctly so that funds are not lost during the transfer.

1. If applicable, the network name the currency belongs to will be displayed in the top section. You may choose to follow the link to view the webpage for the network's contract. Note that it is important for the receiver's address to match the specified network. Refer to Things to consider when receiving tokens and coins to learn more about networks and memos.

2. Enter the destination address in the <Currency> address via one of the following methods:

  • Click the field to open the keyboard, and fill in the address manually.
  • Click Paste to fill in the field with a previously copied address value.
  • Click the Scan button to scan the address QR code.

3. If applicable, enter the memo in the Memo field via one of the following methods:

  • Click the field to open the keyboard, and fill it in manually.
  • Click Paste to fill in the field with a previously copied value.
  • Click the Scan button to scan the memo QR code.

Instead of Memo, this field may be also called DestinationTag, Payment ID, Public key, Attachment, or Message.

4. Enter the amount you wish to send in the Amount field:

  • Click on the field to open the keyboard, and fill in the amount manually.

OR

  • Click MAX to enter all the available funds automatically. You can see the total amount available displayed below the field.

5. Move the Include fee into amount toggle in a required position:

  • If turned off (default), the withdrawal fee is not included in the Amount field value.
  • If turned on, the Amount value you have entered includes the fee.

The section below Include fee into amount lists the Fee and the You pay values. The latter shows how much you will spend after clicking Send. The Send button itself displays the amount that the receiver will get.

Off-chain Transfers

If the address you send the currency to belongs to the same broker, you have an option to transfer funds off-chain without paying the withdrawal fee. To do that, select the first option on the Zero fee option screen. You may still want to send the currency via on-chain along with paying a fee — in such a case, select the second option.

Self-Transfer Prevention

If you try to send funds to your own address, a confirmation pop-up will appear. Click Cancel to discard the action, or Confirm to proceed. Please note, that if you choose to send funds to your wallet, you will pay a withdrawal fee.

Option II: Email or User ID

You can also send the funds in case you only know the receiver's email address or user ID. Please keep in mind that this option only works between HitBTC users.

1. Place the toggle in the Email or user ID position.

2. Specify the email or user ID by doing one of the following:

  • Click the field to open the keyboard, and fill it in manually.
  • Click Paste to fill in the field with a previously copied value.
  • Click the Scan button to scan the QR code.

3. Enter a message of up to 255 characters long.

4. Enter the amount you wish to send in the Amount field:

  • Click on the field to open the keyboard, and fill in the amount manually.

OR

  • Click MAX to enter all the available funds automatically. You can see the total amount available displayed below the field.

When you finish entering the receiver's details by either method, click Send and follow the further instructions.

You will need to enter your 2FA code every time you send funds to other addresses, so be sure to enable 2FA beforehand.

In case the transaction is successful, you will receive the corresponding message.

Things to consider when receiving coins and tokens:

When sending or receiving crypto, please remember to specify correct networks and memos when required.

Token Family

The same token can exist in different networks, and it is very important to ensure that the token you are sending and the token in our application belong to the same network. Currently, the application works with tokens from 12 networks:

1. Ethereum network - https://etherscan.io/

2. Binance Smart Chain network - https://bscscan.com/

3. BNB chain network - https://explorer.binance.org/

4. Solana network - https://explorer.solana.com/

5. Polygon Chain - https://polygonscan.com/

6. Cardano network - https://cardanoscan.io/

7. EOS network - https://bloks.io/

8. Tron network - https://tronscan.org/

9. Chiliz Blockchain - https://explorer.chiliz.com/

10. Hedera public network - https://app.dragonglass.me/hedera/home

11. VeChain network - https://vechainstats.com/

12. Proton network - https://www.protonscan.io/

Memo

Memo is the payment identifier that may be required apart from the address. If a memo is specified as a part of the wallet credentials, you need to share it along with the address. Failing to specify a memo when sending or receiving crypto will result in losing funds during the transaction process.
Instead of Memo, this field may be also called DestinationTag, Payment ID, Public key, Attachment, or Message.
